Bye bye Alice

From this moment on i`m no longer resident of Alice springs. Yep, I left the 30000 residents a month ago and became resident number 3001 from another town in the red dessert, Yulara. Sounds familiar, doesn`t it. If you have read my previous posts of course. I`m living at the rock and the beautiful Olga`s.

The original plan was to move to Darwin , but the company offered me another job when i told them that i would leave and move to the tropical side of the country. A job i couldn`t refuse. A company car, food , rent and being payed to work all day outside. My money goes only to alcohol and smokes, the healthy things in live. So i`m living 500 k`s away from Alice in the most touristic centre in Australia. Who had ever imagined that i would wake up every morning and see the rock while i`m drinking my waking up coffee.

I packed up all my things, amazing how fast my household accumulated in those two years, so many shit that i had gathered, it was good to get rid of those useless things again, and to go back to the basic needs. Organizing all the administration again, change of address, relocating my stuff and a switch over to wireless broadband, has kept me busy for the last month. Its amazing how fast broadband works. I`m still trying to send my first post with this wireless broadband. The device that i had bought had a malfunction, so it didn`t work, and to get another one under warranty is another problem. Living in Yulara with a mail address in Alice didn`t help much. It`s not that i just can pick up the new device on my way to work at the post office. After sending me a third device, the second one didn`t work nether, I`m finaly able to update my weblog. Viva la technoliga.
Life at the rock is pretty good. I met the most locals now, the camels who passing by to see who `s the new resident. The goanna that i disturbed at his private playground. I try to make it up with giving him water every day. The horny devils who are constantly modifying the sandhils. I didn`t had time yet to explore the dirt tracks in the area, but that is one thing i`m looking forward to. Having a resident and contractor card i have access to all the dirt tracks and area`s around the olga`s and the rock and knowing the locals helps me a lot to find the most beautiful spot . So probably the next post will contain pics of unseen places from this area.
