My second step on Australian soil, first one was my honeymoon, the year before. A step full with dreams and expectations. I spend a month waiting till they would release Marcel from a 3o-days quarantine. Waiting and running from one office to another to get the official papers to start a new life, and what a life, i didn`t had a clue.
Finally, the release of cellie, pick him up and drive to our destination, that was the thought i had every f#%# day in the cold July weather of Melbourne. That is one thing i don`t recommend, never camp with a tent in the month of July in Melbourne.
But anyway, the day was there, i was on my way, 4 august, singing and making strange noises together with cellie on the front seats of the car.
What a drive, On old Toyota landcruiser 1986, i didn`t even knew if the car would drive so far. I bought the car back in Melbourne , recommended by Koen. A guy that i met in Belgium, on meetings from people who gonna make that crazy step to immigrate to Australia. I never had a look under a car, how the hell i`m gonna make a choice to buy which car. So i needed help. Koen , who has become a real close friend, saw the car first, i thought that moment" you are joking", but till today i never regret the choice he made, Thanks Koen.
